Some of the most meaningful moments of your wedding day happen before the ceremony. Your mom helping you into your dress. Your dad seeing you for the first time. A quiet exchange with the person you’re about to marry.

As you plan your timeline, consider making room for a few moments that feel true to you. These moments will make your wedding film much more special.

Mom/Siblings helping with your dress
Those final getting-ready touches can become memories you treasure: your mom fastening your dress, adjusting your veil, or stepping back to take it all in. A grandmother, sibling, or another special person can share this moment, too.

A first reveal with your dad/grandparent
Whether he tears up, laughs, or pulls you straight into a hug, seeing his reaction can be unforgettable. Give yourselves a little breathing room so it doesn’t happen on the way out the door.

The bridesmaid reveal
After sharing so much of the planning with your closest friends, letting them see your complete look is a celebration of its own. Expect cheers, happy tears, and plenty of personality.

A first look
Seeing each other before the ceremony gives you time to hug, talk, and take in the moment together. For some couples, it also helps settle the nerves before walking down the aisle.

A first touch
Want to save the first look for the ceremony? Hold hands around a doorway or corner without seeing each other. You can exchange a few words, share a prayer, or simply enjoy knowing your person is right there.

Letters and gift exchanges
A handwritten letter or meaningful gift gives you a chance to say what might be hard to squeeze into a busy day. Reading your letters aloud also lets your wedding film preserve your voices and the emotion behind your words.

The little moments in between
Helping a parent with a boutonniere. A hug from your grandparents. A private last dance. A few quiet minutes together after the ceremony. These moments deserve space, too.
